Payton Silverstone is one of the main characters in Touch of Magic. She a twiceblessed with of the Silverstone Bloodline and the Greene Bloodline as is her younger sister Claire. She is an SJBS-Alumni, and later becomes a journalist after being exposed to the false reporting on the death of her parents. Being raised in Divitia following the family tragedy, she is taught responsibility and leadership qualities. Upon returning to Waterfall Creek in her early teens, she is described as a great student and befriends the humans easily while keeping her secret.
Despite originally having no trust towards The Dawsons she eventually sees them as allies and later fights alongside them against The Travellers, showing her ability to forgive and re-evaluate her judgement. She has a strong moral compass, and she values family, however her history with her father's abusive tendencies make her reluctant to accept Liam Miller as her paternal brother. Her loyalty to the magical community is the reason she intiially doesn't allow her feelings for Jason Dawson to develop, scarred by her ex-boyfriend Pierre Dumoulin who betrayed her trust by cheating on her. Jason and Payton eventually get their happy ending as Jason joins her in Portland where she pursues her journalism studies.
After graduating college, she moves back into her childhood home The Silverstone House and gets a job at The Creek Daily. She becomes a mentor to Phoebe Curtis, a young with with high potential. Payton welcomes her new role as a mother of Alena Dawson, despite being an orphan herself. After having to end the lives of two close friends to protect her daughter, Payton vows to put her family first and promises to fight anyone who tries to put a stop to their happiness. She choses to celebrate love by marrying Jason Dawson and supporting him in his dangerous new role as the co-leader of The Millers 2.0.
Payton balances her family's involvement in vampire politics with loyalty to the magical community, and maintains strong friendships with her childhood friend Sebastien Ambroise and trusted friend Meredith Winchell. After learning to try to see the good in people, she eventually forgives her older brother and supports him in his single parenthood.
After giving birth to a son, Andrew Dawson and another daughter, Amore Dawson, Payton also helps raise Liam's daughter Sophia over the summers and she maintains a friendly relationship with Jason's daughter Ava Carrington.
Payton is queen of Divitia from the age of 18 until she passes it down to her daughter, Amore Dawson. She is queen of Slivatica from the age of 20 until she becomes Regent Queen for Sophia until her 18th birthday, who she then passes the throne to. She is a member of the The Greene Family with contacts to her cousins in New Orleans, as well as The Silverstone Family which she feels closest connected to. By marriage she is part of The Carrington Famiily, and indirectly involved in The Dawsons and The Millers 2.0.
Life[]
Early life[]
Payton was born in the marriage of her mother Lillian and her father Christopher. The marriage and it's resulting offspring, while controversial at first were later embraced by the magical community. Payton's birth was celebrated widely across the magical community as the beginning of a new generation of witches and wizards.
The beacon of hope and unity in which Payton was born however soon changed when her father became an alcoholic. During this time he was frequently careless in looking after Payton when Lillian was at work. The marriage suffered, and Christopher blamed his wife and child for taking away his chance at a normal life. Out of anger he once threw a bottle of alcohol at her. When she was two, Payton's little sister Claire was born. Claire was favored by Christopher because he felt he had a fresh start with his youngest daughter. As a result Payton developed a close bond with her mother, who started teaching her magic from a young age. Payton has fond memories of her mom, especially her laugh and her perfume. One of Lillian's main objectives was to create a good connection with other royals, which is why she took Payton to France shortly after her third birthday, where Payton met Sebastien Ambroise. When Payton was four, her parents died in an attack by The Valkyries and The Millers. Her sister's protective shield made sure she and Claire survived. Afterwards Payton was taken to the hospital where she saw the doctors try to revive her mom, with no success. To this day Payton still hates hospitals because of the things she saw that night, as it is one of her earliest vivid memories.
Payton was placed under the formal guardianship of her paternal aunt, but relocated to the magical dimension to ensure the safety of her and her sister after the attack. She was raised in the magical dimesion as princess Payton for most of her childhood years, with a regent council awaiting her 18th birthday. On visits to the human world, Lucy would always bring them to the portal in Slivatica, which connected to New Orleans in the real world. Payton spent many human summers in Nevada, where her paternal grandparents lived. She attended the funeral of her paternal grandmother and her grandfather who died two years apart when Payton was a pre-teen.
When she was 13, she became a freshman at Sint-Joseph's Boarding School and she returned to reside in the human world full-time, as a dorming student. Living and returning to Waterfall Creek brought back speculation and gossip from the human community, but Payton and Claire were able to put this aside and integrate into the community fully. At school her original roommate was Katie Sampter. The following year Katie transfered to a single room and when Claire became a freshman Lucy arranged for the sisters to be roommates. While attending SJBS she meets most of her close friends, including Mike Creeton and Mila Romano in their first year together, as well as her boyfriend Pierre Dumoulin.
Payton's aunt Lucy visited the town for one out of three manditory parent-teacher meetings, and would drop flowers on her brother's grave but she would not talk to Payton or her sister about the death of their parents. Since their aunt never further interacted with them much because she lived all the way in Texas, Payton drew familiarity from her human friends. She also found a kindred spirit by being pen-pals with Sebastien Ambroise who she had first met a decade prior in France, who she exchanged magical discoveries with.
Payton became a part of the school newspaper mid-way through her sophomore year, in an attempt to make new friends. Entruiged by journalism after seeing the mob of reporters outside her childhood home after the attack, Payton has always been passionated about telling the true story as much as possible. She often finds herself at a moral conflict in this regard, because she has to hide a huge part of her own identity from the human world. Therefore she has always aspired to be a witch first and a journalist second, as to not compromise herself and her identity.
Season One[]
In her Senior Year, Payton's winning streak of not drawing attentions to herself and avoiding getting killed comes to an end. With the arrival of The Dawsons Payton is forced to recognize the history they have in her hometown. Despite this she refuses an alliance at first, and drives them out of town. When the spell to do so backfires, she is forced to accept an alliance between them anyways. She agrees to fight with them in an upcoming threat. She attends a vampire-political gathering for this, and trains with the Dawsons to prepare for the fight. Payton impresses them with her fighting skills, and she talks to them about having to be vigilant all her life. When the fight comes, Payton feels betrayed not knowing that the enemy are James' siblings. This forces a strain on their alliance, especially with Alyssa being mysterious. Eventually Jason and Seth talk to her and convince her that their alliance is worth it. Payton agrees to continue training to them for future threats, potentially in the form of Aria Woods who escaped the fight against The Travellers. Payton then focusses on Homecoming and her responsibilities at the school newspaper. She helps Sarah Wells get a date with Mike, and eventually she agrees to go to Winter Formal with Jason as Mike was her original date. In early December Payton is invited to a dinner honoring Seth's 205th birthday. Payton shares a talk with Nate about her concerns that Aria is still out there. When Payton mentions she is all the family she has, Nate objects saying they are her family too. On Valentine's Day, Payton is involved in Operation Cupid, orchestrated by Mike to get Mila and Katie to admit their feelings for eachother and open up. However she also experiences the painful reminder of her break-up last spring. Despite this, Payton is happy for Mike, Sarah, Mila and Katie. When news hits that they have tracked Aria down, Payton heads to Paris with Seth and Jason during spring break. There they fight Aria, who has brought backup in the form of the Anconi. Payton gets a severe concussion, a broken left tibia and bruised ribs. Despite of this she is concerned about what the Anconi's involvement means for Jason. Payton and Jason share a talk, which gets deep when it revolves around their connection. Payton reveals she knows that Jason has certain feelings, but that those will never be returned. After the trip to Paris, Payton focusses on college applications, and she finds out she has been accepted into Portland University for a Communications degree. This leaves her to question if she should leave her sister to go attend college. Mike creates even more doubt when he breaks their pact of going to Portland together, stating he is going to Arizona where his mom is. When Jason is taken away for his part in killing The Travellers, Payton feels guilty and James talks to her about the different laws and repercussions in their world. On her turn, Payton opens up about life in the magical dimension, contrasting to her current life in Sint-Joseph's Boarding School. Payton then decides to write Sebastien Ambroise. Before graduating and potentially moving away, Payton attends prom with her friends. There she tells Mike to go to Arizona, realizing that not being around her would inavoidably keep him safer. |
Season Two[]
When Payton finds out her sister is missing, she is panicked, but Seth manages to calm her down and is a large support for her. After Claire wakes up, Payton watches a romance between Claire and Seth develop and she ensures the couple that she is supportive. She thanks Seth for everything he has done, and they share a meaningful hug. Payton then realizes that the web of lies surrounding her and Claire is getting too complex at the risk of their friends no longer trusting them. She prepares three versions of the spell used to erase human's memories, and has it on hand when she tells Justin,Mike and Mila her secret. When she offers, neither of them want the memory to be erased, although Mila states she needs time and distance to process this information. When Payton finally graduates, Jason shows up after the graduation ceremony. Jason explains to her that he was released from his sentence, and wished he could have graduated with their classmates. Payton then prepares to move to Portland with Lauren and Nate and Jason. However when Jason explains to her that he has to stay in Waterfall Creek for upcoming threats from The Millers Payton feels abandoned by her friend and she leaves while they're not on good terms. Over the summer, Alyssa offers Payton to stay at the loft that she has in Portland so that Payton can get a feel of the city. When Payton questions this, Alyssa explains that there is a recent surge of vampires in Portland,which Alyssa is tasked to investigate for The Millers. Payton tries to ignore the ongoing territorial conflict between the vampires and hangs out with Lauren and Nate, but gets confronted with their relationship and soon feels like the third wheel. She videocalls with Mike, and inquires about Mila but Mike states he doesn't want to get in between anything. She decides to go out to meet new people and grant herself a glimpse of a normal human life in a new city where nobody knows her. However while at the bar flirting with a stranger she gets a call from Seth saying someone came to the town and attacked Claire and Justin. Alyssa is already outside with her car to take Payton to Waterfall Creek. When Payton finds this odd, Alyssa explains it will all become clear soon. After Payton is convinced that Claire and Justin are safe, Seth leads Payton to a room where Alyssa explains to her that Liam,the guy who attacked Claire and Justin, is her paternal brother. Payton storms out the room, refusing to listen any longer. When Jason blocks her by the car, she reminds him of last time he dissappointed her. Jason then offers to drive her to Portland himself, since she is clearly upset. They have a tense carride back to Portland. When Payton hears that Claire released Liam, she assumes that is the end of the story and she expresses her relief that she never met him. Payton sends Jason away again, reminding him of the pressing vampire political crisis. Lauren and Nate attempt to check in on her, but Payton has decided to isolate herself because she feels overwhelmed. Her powers, tied to her emotions, are unstable because the experience with Liam has brought up some feelings regarding her father. Payton takes the invitation from the regent council as a welcome distraction. She attends her first royal gathering since she is 18 now and travels to the magical dimension. At the gathering, Payton gets ambushed regarding their alliance with the Dawsons, which the other royals, spearheaded by Peter Thornton express disbelief about. Through an anonymous vote the council decides that Payton and Claire's actions have endangered the entire magical community by association, and they are forced to go along with a ritual that strips them of their active powers. Feeling betrayed by her own community, unable to reach her aunt for advice and struggling with adapting to a new city, Payton asks Alyssa for help in training her so she can survive without her powers. Alyssa uses her expertise in weaponary to teach Payton advanced hand-to-hand combat skills and Payton makes good progress. She gets overambitious however when she decides to go out into town and track down some of the rogue vampires in the city. She gets cornered and the vampires are challenging each other for the honor of killing her. That is when Liam shows up to chase the vampires away, claiming he was tasked with killing Payton himself on May Miller's orders. Once the other vampires are gone he introduces himself to Payton as her brother, and tells her he won't harm her. Liam gets a wounded Payton back to Alyssa's loft, where it's revealed that Alyssa has known all along that Liam was in town keeping an eye on Payton. Payton feels betrayed and starts feeling like the vampires are the cause of everything bad in her life. She shares these feelings with Sebastien, who asks her why she still honors the alliance. Payton says she doesn't want to endanger her sister's happiness, and that it protects her hometown. Sebastien reminds her not to lose sight of her own happiness at which point Jason calls her, Sebastien ends the conversation with encouraging words, stating that she still has people in her corner. When Liam continues to follow her around she eventually snaps at him saying that the only thing he should know is that she loathes her faher's side of the family, including him. A feeling of relief washes over her, and she is actually surprised she said it out loud. Liam offers to be her punching bag, verbal or physical, whenever she needs him to be. Payton moves into her dorm the next week with the help of Lauren and Nate. Jason and Seth come to visit, explaining that James and May have reached a territorial agreement and that they will work together to clean the rogue vampires out of Portland. When Payton attends orientation she gets asked if she has any siblings. Payton replies saying she has a sister, reluctantly adding she also has a brother. Payton visits Waterfall Creek for homecoming, and James checks in with her regarding the loss of her powers. Payton admits she feels betrayed. They both think back to one year prior, where the Dawsons were not even allies and now they were the closest thing she had to family.Payton and Seth have a conversation regarding the town and any potential threats. Seth tells Payton that his vow to look out for Claire has been extended to looking out for all students at SJBS, but he admits it's not easy to keep an eye on everyone. Overhearing this, Alyssa offers to join Seth at the school to help, asking Payton if she is okay being in Portland by herself with Liam around. Payton jokes that she will try not to kill him. Jason witnesss the exchange, and realizes Payton is starting a life in Portland that she isn't a part of. As she is heading back to university, Jason walks up to the car with a duffel bag, asking ifshe has room for an extra passanger. Payton and Jason are in Portland talking about the city when Jason reports the vampires seem to migrate towards the south now that they're being chased out of the northwest. This triggers Payton to check in with her aunt, but she doesn't get a hold of her. Two days later Payton gets the call that her aunt's body was found in her home. Payton is devastated and Jason looks out for her that night. The next morning, Payton wakes up with the revelation that Liam has been abscent and she concludes he must be behind the attack on her aunt. Jason stops her from storming out of her room and tells her that he willpersonally kill Liam if he had anything to do with it. Jason offers to help with funeral arrangements, and Payton explains there's magical traditions. After hesitating for a moment, she asks if the Dawsons would attend. Jasonassures her they will all be there. During the funeral, respresentatives of all magical bloodlines show up at The Silverstone House to pay their respects. When Bash appears in the door, Payton is surprised since they haven't spoken in person since they were both small kids. When she asks him if he had permission to come, Bash states he didn't bother asking because their friendship is more important. Bash sticks around after most of the royals have left in the following days, explaining he wants to delay the unavoidable lecture he is bound to get from his aunt, Queen Charlotte, who didn't attend because of the distance from France. Bash asks Payton if she gave any thought to finding her own happiness, and Payton says her life is too chaotic to think about that right now. Bash states it doesn't have to be, and that she is on the path of regaining the trust of the magical community as is evident by those who attended the funeral. Bash suggests that one way to improve her status within the magical community would be a strategic marriage, explaining that it would make sense and perhaps was also her mother's intention for them to marry. Payton is speechless, and says she can't answer the question because she doesn't know how she feels marrying a wizard, knowing what it did to her parents' marriage. As Sebastien leaves the house, Payton sees Jason in the backyard, unsure if he overheard the conversation. Payton returns to Portland, where Lauren and Nate tell Payton that Jason has been specifically quiet lately. When Jason doesn't show up to training sessions, Payton realizes he is avoiding her. When she shows up at the loft, Jason denies that he avoided her, and changes the subject by stating that anther vampire group claimed the death of Lucy Greene, and that Alyssa tracked Liam to Europe at the time of Lucy's death. |
Season Three[]
Payton realizes neiher she or Mike have heard from Mila in over a month, and they share their concerns. Payton then gets reminded of something Alyssa said, which is that Liam as a kid always used to chase down herds of animals and kill the weakest most isolated one, and comes to the conclusion that Liam may have gone after Mila in retalliation for her accusation at him. After Claire and Alyssa track Liam down, Payton watches Liam on security cameras outside the perimeter of one of the Miller safehouses getting food and drinks. As Jason drives them to the locationfor five hours, Payton's mind spirals from the back and forth of trust and mistrusting Liam. Payton and Jason go to the safehouse Alyssa had told them about. There they find Liam, keeping Mila captive, and Payton attacks Liam. She is only able to make a few moves before Lauren and Nate stop her. Jason tells her killing Liam is not worth it, and they get back in the car to get Mila to safey. Before getting in, Payton tells him he proved he is no different than their father, just like she thought. Payton gets in the car wihth the warning never to come close to her or her family ever again. Payton stays by Mila's side as she gets a medical check from Elisabeth and tells the story of how LIam approached her in Rome. Payton continuously apologizes to her, which ultimately annoys Mila and she states she just wants to get back home, which Payton reluctantly accepts. Payton then turns to Claire, and expresses her concern for tracking Liam down with bloodmagic. Claire confronts Payton on the fact that she is not her mother, and that they have more pressing matters to attend to. Payton and Claire invite the Arlen witches to a meeting spot, where they listen to their story told by Meredith Winchell. When the Arlen witches talk about their immense strength, Payton reminds them that they currently have no power. Jessica explains they weren't talking about physical power, but resillience and bravery when the odds are against them. The emergence of the Arlen bloodline brings unrest in the following Magical gathering, where Payton's attempts to defend the witches by claiming the magical community has a tendency to turn on its own. Payton gets cornered by Bryan Thornton who warns her that she could lose much more than her powers if she makes another regreful alliance. This encourages Payton even more to give the Arlen witches her full support. She talks to Mike about taking the Arlen witches under her protection, to which Mike blames her for not even being able to keep Mila safe. Mike tells her people have a tendency to be worse off when they're around her, and when Payton tries to call Mila to make amends for the millionth time, Mila cuts her off. Payton gets a reminder that she has an important school deadline that she completely lost track of, and she falls asleep in the Dawson library trying to work on the article. When Elisabeth finds her she reads through the article and questions Payton's choice of subject. Payton explains she wrote about the french presidency because she has close connections in the country, hinting at Sebastien. When Elisabeth jokes Payton seems to have a type for Europeans, Payton denies she ever had any feelings for Bash. She ends up going through pictures of her and her friends when they were younger and all much more innocent. She gets reminded of her relationship with Pierre, and when Elisabeth asks her about it she admits that she regrets telling her human friends about magic. She fears she was selfish, but Elisabeth explains her that there is nothing selfish about wanting a family who understands you. Payton spends the holiday season in Waterfall Creek and finds design school brochures amongst the items on Claire's desk. She is supportive of Claire's ambition to design, and surprises Claire along with Mike to attend the midwinter theater production that Claire did the costume design for. On Valentine's day she goes to a party where she meets a stranger, however he gets too handsy and she uses self-defense on him. When she knocks on the door of the loft, Jason opens and Payton admits to him she hates being weak and vulnerable. Jason tells her he sees nothing weak about her, and they share a moment. In the spring, Payton attends the second wedding of Alyson and Dylan. She finds herself surrounded by couples, from the carride with Lauren and Nate to being a third wheel with Claire and Seth. Jason finds her at the beach, and the two of them talk about what's between them. They get interrupted by Justin who is drunk due to his most recent breakup with Anna. When Jason shows up the next morning to collect the jacket that Payton was wearing, Jason says he knows she needs time, and that he'll be there whenever she feels ready. When they're hanging out, Payton asks Jason about his experience with colleges in the past and Jason tells her about the times he attended college for his own enjoyment versus when he was tasked to do so by James. Jason reminds Payton of her passion for journalism. During the conversation, Jason receives the text from Seth with the warning from Lindsey Price and he informs Payton. When Seth's text continues asking if they've spoken to Alyssa recently, Payton concludes Alyssa lied to her whereabouts to all of them. Payton goes out at night to hunt down vampires, questioning them if they know where Alyssa might be. One night she is lucky, and a vampire tells her about Matt and Alyssa causing mayhem in Vancouver. When Payton and Jason text Alyssa asking what she's doing in Vancouver, Alyssa texts back saying she'll explain in the morning. Payton sleeps over at the loft, awaiting an explenation from Alyssa. When she wakes up, Alyssa and Jason are talking in hushed voices. They then tell Payton that Jared is on his way back to Waterfall Creek, reminding Payton of what he did to Claire. Alyssa then announces that this time is different, because he is not acting on his own accord. Alyssa announces Jared and May recently got married, and that his actions are now in service of The Millers, meaning that there is a full out war coming. At an alliance meeting, Payton insists on taking the fight to them, but James admits his hands are tied on the territorial matter. Payton expresses her frustration that the exceptions to the rule are only made against them and never in their favor. At the brink of another war, Nate offers to train with Payton and hints that she might prefer to train with Jason instead. The training session gets interrupted by a message from the magical council, announcing a vote to cancel Payton and Claire's upcoming coronation. Payton is overwhelmed and Jason and Seth find her by her parents grave. Payton tells them about her mother, and how she brought peace to the magical dimension while Payton's involvement only seems to tear it apart. Jason reminds her of her efforts to protect the Arlen witches, and trusting her sister with teaching them about magic. Claire talks to Payton about what it would mean, if they could have a normal life without royal duties and with little to no magical powers. Payton tells Claire she'd still have her relationship with Seth, but that she only has missed deadlines and fake friendships waiting for her in Portland. Meredith finds Payton searching through her family's textbooks, and tells Payton about how this legacy is her birthright, not something vicious kings get to take away from her. Payton and Claire then attend the counting ceremony, where the Amertas and Solos kingdom votes in favor, and the Sanguis and Tenebris kingdom votes against. Seemingly a tie-breaker, the vote is then disrupted by Ben Greene who was tracked down by Meredith Winchell and casts a vote in name of Slivatica as it's next potential heir. Ben votes in favor of Payton and Claire's coronation, and he issues the entire royal community to recognize the Arlen witches as the royal house of the Aerqua bloodline. Payton and Claire return to the human world to tell the good news when they realize the time-displacement and it's the night of the track competition. They go to the school, and find out Justin's team has won. Looking at their friends celebrating, Payton realizes her early conclusions were true and she doesn't have anyone to celebrate with. Isolating herself at her usual spot at the school, Jason approaches her. He tells her he's been looking for her ever since Claire showed up on the field. When he asks her if everything is okay, Payton admits she feels guilty for almost losing her entire family's legacy. Jason objects to this, but Payton insists on the matter. Jason gives up his argument in favor of just being there for her, and she rests her head on his shoulder. Jason's hand rested next to hers for a while on the little bench. Then, it moved closer and eventually rested on top of hers. Payton's eyes closed, and the voices of doubt and insecurity on weither she'd be worth the trust of the magical community subsided. Instead, she focussed on this moment. A moment between her and Jason that, when she lifted her head to look up at him, spoke volumes just by one look. Payton admits she thinks her life might be easier if she has someone by her side. While Jason's initial response is one of hurt, because she knows his feelings and what hearing those words does to him, he then sees something in her eyes. Jason realizes her words are not a hypothetical. Payton tells Jason she now knows what she wants, echoing his words from back in Paris. She admits to wanting him. Despite the fact that their alliance will be tested by the upcoming war with The Millers, and that their relationship might spark more controversy within the magical community which they just healed from, Payton finally allows her feelings to be put first and she shares a kiss with Jason. Payton tells him they have to talk about what this means, and Jason offers they go for a drive. Payton tells him she wants to take things slow, and that they can not tell anyone else until after they've defeated The Millers. At the end of the car-ride, Jason stops at a building in downtown Waterfall Creek. He announces he will buy it and turn it into a nightclub. When he asks her if she has any ideas for its name, Payton comes up with the name 'Decade'.
When Mike comes to visit her during spring break, Payton wonders why he does not seem to be talking about school. Instead he seems very interested in the club idea and avoids any school related subject. When she finds out he has quit, she is dissappointed but Mike explains to her that college wasn't his thing and that he is considering moving back to Waterfall Creek. When he asks if Jason might have a job for him, Payton smiles saying she'll talk to him which makes Mike suspicious. Alyssa then shows up in Portland a few days later, asking where Jason is since he isn't at the loft. When Payton explains he is gone hunting, Alyssa states it seems like he hasn't been at the lofts in a while to which Payton admits Jason has been hanging out in her dorm room instead. Payton explains she is a seriously bad liar considering she's an empath, and reveals to Alyssa that they're in a relationship. Alyssa announces she's happy for them, and that they'll talk more when she gets back. Payton is baffled when Alyssa announces she is going to meet up with Jared to kill him, but unable to stop her as she rushes out the door. Payton hurries to go after Alyssa, and calls her sister while she is on her way. Alyssa and Jared are in the middle of a fight causing chaos in the lofts when Payton arrives. Jared has Alyssa in a locked position, and Payton knows she needs to distract him. She then grabs her knife from her boot and cuts herself, distracting Jared for long enough so Alyssa can regain control. However Alyssa's self-control also wavers, and Jared overpowers her again, this time charging at Payton. Jason shows up just in time and collides with Jared. While Jared and Jason fight, Alyssa tries to regain control of herself but eventually has to leave the residence. When Jared asks Jason why she is so important to him, Jason's lack of a superficial comeback alerts Jared to the fact that Jason has deeper feelings for Payton. When Payton throws him a wooden stake, Jason's brief hesitation to kill his own brother allows Jared to escape. Payton is confused by what happened, and Jason explains that Jared now knows about the two of them, and will report it to May Miller directly. Jason warns her that May will now most likely come after Payton directly. |

Payton took the responsibility on her and grew up very fast , because she had to take care of her sister. She has developed a great skill in leadership. Her powers make her very understanding and she is a listening ear to all her friends. She is also a hard worker , because she had to prove herself at a young age.

Payton is a very beautiful, attractive young woman with a long squared face, light olive complexion, brown eyes and brown hair, variating from dark to light. Her hair is usually shoulder lenght, occasionally shorter or longer. Her eyes are not green like most of her paternal ancestors.
She prefers wearing her hair half up or fully up in a ponytail. She usually wears make up, not a lot but not a little either. She jokes it's her way of looking flawless like others in her family such as Alyson and Elisabeth.
Her style can be described as casual, but with a classy touch. She has a thing for pastel colours, and loose fitted items. She also buys dresses, but those somehow make it into Claire's closet as she said herself. She has a style that mixes work and party for when she is at the club.
Magic[]
Payton is a twiceblessed royal, which makes her unique even within the royals. Her bloodlines are the Silverstone Bloodline and the Greene Bloodline which grant her several special powers on top of the elemental powers she has.
Payton has basic powers like all witches:
- Geokinesis: Like all witches Payton can manipulate elements derived from the earth in a basic form.
- Advances Agrokinesis: As a witch from the Greene Bloodline Claire has a stronger connection to fauna and flora.
- Portaling: Payton can, like all other royals, use a portal to transfer to another dimension. Being born in the Silverstone House, she has a close connection to the portal in the attic and can sense it from a distance.
- Advanced spellcasting: Her expertise is within spells of the Silverstone bloodline, but she has knowledge of Greene spells too. Payton has created three spells herself, most noticably the one she used to help her vampire family members deal with sunlight, and a protection spell for her unborn child while she didn't have her powers.
As a twiceblessed witch, her magic manifested in some specific special powers that she was born with.
- Telekinesis (enherited): She can move objects with her mind, without touching them. She can also do this to humans to a certain extent. She enherited this power from her mother's side of the family
- Advanced Photokinesis: Payton can control light, both natural and synthetic. She can brighten rooms that do not have a source of light.
- Empathy: Payton can sense feelings of people around her. She usually knows when someone is hiding someone or lying as well, so the power goes beyond just emotions. She has conditioned herself into blocking out Claire, and later on she does the same with Jason. She later channels part of her power into rings for Seth and Alyssa. She is the first empath to be born with the power.
- Healing : Payton has the power to heal. She theoretically can also heal people without a hartbeat and bring them back, but that would stop her own heart because the amount of power it takes from her. She can not heal herself, and because of this Payton is often extra protected during battles.
Education and Career[]
Payton lived in Divitia from the age of 4 until 15. After that she goes back to Waterfall Creek to live in the SJBS dorms with her sister Claire. Payton was one year older than the other kids in her class because she hadn't attended classic elementary or middle school.

Payton got a fully funded offer from university to study Journalism, on an unknown sponsors money, which turned out to be Pierre Ambroise. She finishes her degree in the summer of 2013, during which time she lived in Portland.
Right after graduating, Payton and Jason move back to Waterfall Creek, where she had been given an offer to work for The Creek Daily. Payton takes the job, and works there starting the summer of 2013.
After a year and several months Payton has to quit her job due to her pregnancy. Afterwards, she focusses on raising her daughter but she is also known to help out at Decade for a while throughout the remainder of 2015. She becomes co-owner when she gets married to Jason in August 2015.
Around the beginnng of 2016 Payton start making plans to create her own publishing company with adjecent coffeebar/bookstore, in a joint-venture with Elizabeth.

Payton was born in The Silverstone House like most witches in The Silverstone Family. She lived there first the first 4 years of her life, until her parents got killed. She then got taken to Divitia where she was raised by her caretakers and thought everything about magic. Being the rightful heir to the throne, Payton had spacious living quarters along with her sister. When she was old enough, Lucy Greene insisted she moved back to the human dimension, as not to lose touch to the human world.
Payton and her sister got assigned a dorm at SJBS. Payton lived there until she was 19, which is when she decided to move to Portland to go to college.
She finished a 4-year journalism degree in Portland, originally living in the college dorms. She later frequently visited Jason's condo in Portland, and also spent a lot of time at the Portland Lofts. After finishing her degree Payton decided to move back to Waterfall Creek, living in her parents' house. There she lives and raises her children throughout her marriage with Jason.

Payton and Pierre datedfor most of her junior year, after Pierre started attending the boarding school as a foreign exchange student. They grew towards each other because Payton had been taught French from
a young age, which happened to be Pierre's native language. They broke up when he told Payton he cheated on her. Pierre left to go back to France, and they have no more contact. Eventually they cleared up the misunderstanding when Pierre reveals himself to be a wizard. Ever since they get along fine, and they are friends with. They met as kids and they've been in touch ever since. When the Silverstones held a gathering to re-introduce the Silverstone House, Bash attended and he proposed to Payton for them to get married. Payton and Jason are lovers, soulmates, husband and wife and best friends. They have a very close relationship despite the fact that they didn't have the best start. They fell in love eventually and have been through a lot, but ultimatly their love persevered. (see more : Jason and Payton)

Payton and Liam are paternal half-siblings. Even though they had a rough start Payton learned to accept him and have him in her life, untill he made a big mistake by kidnapping her best friend. They did not speak for several years, untill he turns up unannounced stating he is a human now. Payton and Alena have a very close connection. Alena looks a lot like her mother in the way that she has a big sense of responsibility. Payton has always taught Alena to be herself and never let anyone tell her she isn't good enough.
When Alena was conceived and Payton realised she was pregnant it was a never before seen occasion. Right from that moment, Payton loved her daughter more than she had every loved anyone. She was very eager to find a good name, and she decided on Alena as a suggestion by Jason. Payton added the names Lillian and Lauren in honor of the two important people in Payton's life. As a newborn Payton states Alena was the most perfect baby. When Alena was a toddler, Payton started to recognize a lot of herself in Alena's little personality. But she also recognized a pattern. This brought a fear to Payton that she'd follow the same fate as her mother and leave behind two small children. Payton feared this again when Alena and her younger brother got kidnapped by May. Ultimatly Alena and AJ were brought to safety, and shortly after that Alena was happy to finally meet her little sister. Payton recalls how Alena wanted a girl but AJ fought her on that stating it would be a boy. Alena was ultimatly right, and Payton was delighted to see her care for her little sister.
Payton and Jason tried to give Alena the most normal childhood they could. When the question came which school she'd attend, they enrolled her in SJBS as a regular student. There, Alena attended with her cousins untill she was 18.Payton and AJ are very close, despite the fact that AJ is more of a daddy's boy. AJ takes his parents into account whenever he makes decisions, and he has great respect for them and how they raised him. AJ stated he hopes his own wife is as great to their children as Payton was to him.
Payton and Amore share a special connection and they are particulary close. Even before she was born, Payton knew Amore was safe. After that, Amore kept surprising Payton with what she could do and how she thrived and succeeded in everything she put her mind to. Amore resembles her mother in her creative expression for music, and in her natural talent for magic and spells.

- Payton's full legal name is Payton Paige Silverstone-Greene. Her middle name is revealed during Jason's wedding vows, after previously only been known by Claire, Mike and Jason. In high school she didn't use her father's last name socially because she didn't want the last name of someone who didn't love her, despite school records still listing it. Payton originally keeps her maiden name when she marries Jason but during her second pregnancy she decides she wants to share the same last name as her kids. Jason eventually suggests giving their kids both family names to represent their strength, and Payton agrees with this. This makes Payton's full name Payton Paige Silverstone-Dawson at the end of Season Seven.
- Payton speaks several foreign languages including French and Latin.
