Payton ; I looked at him and smiled. "You can't force me to go to sleep Jason..." I put my arms around his neck and kissed him again. "If you meant anything about being there for us... Then prove it. I just need to forget about all of this for just one night. Please..."
Jason: I nodded and said: "Okay then. I will stop forcing you to go back to sleep. I love you." I kissed her one more time and sat down on the bed. "So what do you want to do then if you don't want to go back to sleep?" I looked at the little crib of Amore and I smiled. She was still vast asleep.
Payton ; "I... want you to hold me. Without clothes..." I smiled at him and kissed him again. I already got rid of his shirt and I kissed down his chest. "It's okay Jason... I want this too..." I knew he was holding back a lot. And I could understand why. But I needed him to know that this was okay. In fact, this was more then okay after not being able to be talking much for a whole week.
Jason: I looked at her and tried to figure out if this was really okay. I smiled when she kissed me and I took her in my arms. "I live you." I took of her pyjama and kissed her neck. I missed this so much. I missed my wife so much.
Payton ; I smiled and nodded. "I love you too..." I hadn't said it to him in such a long time, and the longer I didn't say it the more I ached for it. The more the feeling grew, and the more love I felt for him. I smiled and bit my lip hard when he did what he did.
Jason: I looked at her and bit my lip. I wanted her so bad, but I needed to know for sure that she was fine with it. "Are you...sure?" I smiled when she nodded and I placed my lips back to hers. My hands trailed along her body and my lips followed closely behind it before going back to her lips.
“I thought about you,” he breathes against her skin, “Every night.”
Her eyelids fall and she bites her lip to hold back her impatience. He puts his lips to her lower abdomen and she shivers from head to toe. Slowly moving up her body, his lips never breaking contact. He presses one last kiss to her neck before she opens her eyes to look at him.She finally looks into eyes that look into hers, a bit dark but comforting, and it feels like coming home. She pulls his chin to hers, not returning the words because it feels like words cannot encompass what she feels for him in this moment and for every moment she’s ever been with him. She swears his eyes get a shade darker when he kisses her again but he’s pinning her against the bed, his body moving effortlessly between hers and she’s lost her train of thought. Her leg drapes over his, pulling him effortlessly closer to her as he thrusts ever so slightly into her. Their lips move against each other’s without any thought, and even after months of separation, it feels as though nothing has changed, not even since the first night she ever came to him. His lips move to her neck, never once leaving her skin. He bites and sucks, eliciting moans from her mouth. She can sense his smug smile against her as she murmurs his name.“I have waited,” he says in between kisses down her collarbone, “too long,” he pauses to look up at her, “to do this.” His lips return to her skin, “To feel you against me once more.” Payton’s lips are slightly parted, and she has to focus to be able to reply. “I know…” She whispers, as her hands graze through his dark hair. “So did I.” she adds. His touch is feather light on the smooth skin of her thigh and her breath begins to come out in quick gusts. Her head falls back against the pillow, her dark hair spilling around her head and her eyes fluttering closed. The Payton he is looking at is one he has been longing to see for days, even weeks. One only he gets to see. She is utterly relaxed and tense at the same time beneath him, both in expectation and in peace. She is not the woman who send him away to save their love. Every fiber of his being loves her. The part that is devoted to his marriage, the part that cares for his children, the part that was broken when she threw his words back in his face, the part that killed someone for her, the part that spent the past nights awake and wishing he was beside her.He laughs but it comes out breathy and sudden because the rise and fall of her chest is slowing and her eyes are flickering to his pants, which are somehow still on. She raises an eyebrow at him, not even needing to speak before nimbly unbuttoning his jeans. Once they both bring themselves back to reality, Payton rests her head on the pillow. Her dark hair is plastered to her face in sweat, her lips swollen and her cheeks red, and she is beautiful, mesmerizing, captivating. He rolls off her and she rests her chin on his chest, her eyes trained on him. He runs a hand through his dark curls, his head falling back against the pillow, utterly spent. “Missed me that much?” she asks, her voice nearly, but not completely, back to normal.“Come to think about it, I don’t think I’ve shown you just how much I’ve missed you.” He kisses her again and she giggles against his lips It sounds and feels like home and comfort and relief. He looks into her brown eyes and brushes a lock of hair out of her face, suddenly serious.“Payton, I—“ he starts.“I know,” she says softly. “I did too.”Words can’t even begin to touch upon what he feels for the girl before him, her legs tangled with his, her hair messy. He can’t even describe the horror of what it felt to be apart from her. Not being able to touch her lips, tell her he loved her, hold her hand in his. And somehow, he made it back to her. She’s enveloped in his arms, and he’s the most comfortable he’s ever been. “Thank you,” she says suddenly. “For what?” he asks, frowning slightly and looking down at her.“You kept the one promise that mattered truly,” she says. “You came back to me.”
"No, daddy, that’s mine!" Payton hears a little boy say in her dream. Soon her mind alerts her that it’s not a dream."Shhhh," comes her husband’s reply. Payton’s eyes flicker open, searching the dark for the source of the voices. Her husband and son are sitting on the floor with a pile of wooden blocks and AJ’s pirate next to them. Jason is holding one block and Andrew is reaching for it, frowning slightly. He puts a finger to his lips before saying, "Mama is still asleep, Andrew. We have to be quiet for her.""Too late," Payton says, yawning slightly and sitting up in bed. The room is still dark, but moonlight filters through the windows, allowing her to see the scene before her. Jason looks up apologetically and Andrew’s eyes widen when he sees his mother. The two year old scrambles to his feet, throwing his blocks aside and running to his parents’ bed. He crawls on top of it, sitting next to Payton, who puts her arm around him and pulls him close."I’m sorry, Mommy. I tried to be quiet, I really did," the little boy says, his sad eyes peering up into his mother’s brown ones."It’s quite all right, Andrew. I think I can forgive you both." She meets Jason’ gaze briefly as he approaches the bed and exchanges his worried look with a smile. "But why are you awake, ma cherie?”“I had a bad dream and I couldn’t sleep so I did knock knock. Papa let you sleep and we were playing blocks. But he didn’t want to wake you, I swear! It isn’t his fault!” He says quickly. He was well aware that his mommy and daddy hadn’t been tucking him in at night together, and that he rarely saw their lips hugging, as he called it."It isn’t anyone’s fault. Don’t worry, I don’t blame him. Not for waking me at least. But," she says, "You really should be asleep.""I couldn’t. Daddy tried telling me a story, but it didn’t work," Andrew says, bowing his head. "I thought I would play with him to take his mind off of the dream," Jason explains. "Hopefully it is now?"Andrew nods solemnly."Your mother is right, though," he says. "You should be in bed.""But—" Andrew starts."Ah, no buts," Payton says. "It’s late.""I was hoping…" Andrew trails off uncertainly."That you could sleep with us tonight?" Jason finishes. Andrew nods. "I don’t see why n—""He’ll never sleep if he’s with us," Payton interrupts, frowning at Jason."He won’t sleep by himself either, with these dreams," he reasons."Andrew is a big boy now. We will not always be here to stop the nightmares from coming.""Even big boys need their parents sometimes." Jason looks at her pleadingly and Payton turns to her son, whose doe eyes are hard to resist. "Well, I can never resist the two of you," she sighs, giving up. Andrew sighs in relief and Jason beams as he walks around the bed to join them. Andrew curls into his mother’s arms under the covers, perfectly sandwiched between his parents. "Honestly," Payton says quietly, "The two of you together are a force of nature."
Jason: "I know, so that's why we are going back to sleep now." I smiled and kissed Aj on his cheek. "Go to sleep now buddy." I looked at Payton and smiled. "I love you. Sleep tight."
Payton ; I sighted as just a few hours later our own personal wake-up system switched on and I rubbed my eyes. I looked at AJ who was still sleeping and then looked at Jason, who was getting out of bed to go and check on the baby. "There is a bottle ready for her in the fridge." I said, still sleepy from the night before. "Hurry back, okay. I miss you..."
Jason: I smiled and said: "I'll get her and then feed her here." I walked over to the little crib and took our precious little girl out of it. When I came back upstairs Aj was still asleep and I smiled. "Do you want to feed her or should I?" I sat back down on the bed and held the baby close in my arms.
Payton ; "You can do that. She probably missed you." Well, not probbaly. I was actually sure of it seeing how the last week or so was pretty much gone through with constant crying of her. "I think i'll go and start getting ready. I have some stuff to do before this afternoon."
Payton ; I looked at him and smiled. "With all do respect, but you can't even taste the buttercream frosting for the cake without throwing up." I walked over to his side of the bed and kissed him. "It's okay, babe. I just have to make a red velvet cake and hang up some slingers. You can't even reach those.." I wiggled my fingers and then walked into the bedroom. "Just keep AJ asleep for a few more hours and if Alena wakes up you could play with her."
What do you think?
